Author Joan Adamian took the pen name Joan Marie since it was the name she gave her Event Planning Company many years ago.

Biography
Joan Adamian is a graduate of Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan where she studied Elementary Education, Creative Arts and English. She possesses a Bachelor of Science Degree and graduates studies credits from the University of Hawaii.
Although she studied this subjects officially, unofficially she was the resident storyteller and life of the party during her college years.
She successfully taught Kindergarten and 8th Grade and initiated a private teaching program tutoring students of all ages, primarily in Mathematics and English, in inner-city Detroit, Michigan, which at the time was a very dangerous place to teach.
Years later she became interested in marketing, art, investing and in real estate.
After traveling to many other parts of the world, she ended up in the Denver, Colorado area, where she resides today.
Professionally she become a marketing rep for the Office Products Division of IBM in Phoenix, Arizona and became top producer. After which she became Computer Sales Reps for Wang Laboratories and NBI.
After that, she refused to work for anyone else and started her own business and from that the Joan Marie Event Planner Company was born. Started from scratch, she built it to a net worth that would equate to hundreds of thousands of dollars today.
The many connections she made as Joan Marie, the Event Planner, led to consulting real estate agents and sales model staging, which eventually led to her starting her 2nd business, Divine Design Living, which was “Simply Beautiful.”
During all of this her major life companions were animals. Before she got her own, she would go to the pet parks to get her “animal high” that she still gets today from being around loving fuzzy creatures. Wanting all the animals she can get to be loved and made companions, she has taken on the cause of getting homes and happiness for as many as possible.
Art
Joan is an artist that creates comical and spiritual pieces that match the personality those individuals with who the pieces find homes.
She uses acrylic, water color and other types of paint on canvas to create laughable and lovable images.

Interior Design
Two to three years of Joan’s career involved staging real estate models in Colorado with ReMax Realtors.
Her job was to set up these models that were for sale and she instinctively knew what colors and furniture fit the decor and in many cases those houses sold immediately after her interior make over.

Event Planning
Joan claims that this was the most fun work she’s done because the job was tasked with creating play and seeing people’s enjoyment come together based on her planning work.
This work involved sampling products from vendors, hiring sub-contractors and serving as liaison with the business or private parties for whom the event was being planned and supervising staff on-site at events.
She was noted for being consistent in quality and reasonably priced with excellent products and services associated with her events.
Author
To date, Joan has written three books.
The first was a short autobiography titled Do Da Do Da Do Da Ditty.
In it, she lays out facts about her life from childhood to adulthood with a remarkable simplicity.

The second is a guide to Event Planning.
Joan wrote this at the height of her success planning events as the Joan Marie Company.
The book is appropriately titled The Event.
